So the Russians took a lot of capital and factories and the like from East Germany, and for that matter, even from Budapest. I mean, Hungary and East Germany, of course, had been fighting with the Nazis. And so the Russians felt entitled to get reparations, and they did. But the fact is these economies were poor. As the economies improved, fertility improved, but not to the same extent as in the West. So it's a general economic force.
